Concert at the National Library

Chilean folk music at the America Hall
With a program that included works of our traditional folklore, our Guitar and Piano Duet performed a concert last Thursday, November 23, 2006, at 7 P.M. at the America Hall of the National Library.
The America Hall has been traditionally one of the most important and representative places in Santiago for the diffusion of chamber music.
Throughout the years, the most important groups of musicians of our country have spread their art in that place.
Our Duet had already participated in season 2003, performing works of Luigi Boccherini, of the Mexican Manuel Maria Ponce and of Joaquín Rodrigo and during the season 2004 our Duet offered a program with works of Vicente Bianchi, Federico Moreno Torroba, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Astor Piazzolla.
On this occasion, in a recently renewed America Hall, with new illumination, new sound system and other modern adaptations, our Duet offered the following program:

PROGRAM:

FERNANDO BRAVO: Prelude
O. PEREZ FREIRE: Río Río
X J.ANTONIO SANCHEZ: Tonada por Despedida
X VICTOR JARA: Luchín
X JORGE BERNALES: Bajando P' Pto. Aysén
SEGUNDO ZAMORA: Adiós Santiago Querido

FERNANDO BRAVO: Guitar & Piano Suite
VICENTE BIANCHI: Tres Tonadas

LOS JAIBAS: Alturas de Macchu-Picchu

We take this opportunity to thank Mario Andrés Salazar, who until last year was director of the America Hall, and who for many years has been in charge of the many different cultural projects developed there.
Mario Andrés has always had a very good disposition towards all the musicians who carry out a constant artistic activity, which has allowed the performances of different musical expressions at the America Hall.
